Tony Vieira
York University Senior researcher, Augmented Reality Lab
Tony Vieira is a musician, composer and media artist who creates immersive visual and sonic landscapes for mobile and locative media. He has composed original music scores for television, indie film, and interactive media, created augmented reality and alternate reality projects for World Pride 2015 Toronto, Art Crawl Hamilton, and is currently developing a locative Pop Story series. Tony holds an MA in Music Composition from York University where he is currently pursuing a PhD in Ethnomusicology and Digital Studies. He is a senior researcher with the York University Augmented Reality Lab and has been a Music Program tutorial instructor for Music & Cultures, Music in the City and Popular Music. Tony has also been an instructor of courses and workshops in Music for Media (Anatomy of a Film Score) and Songwriting & Composition (The Art & Craft of Songwriting).
