Hello! My name is Alinta and I am a multidisciplinary digital artist and writer. My work has two main strains - projection mapping art in site-specific installations, and net-based/app-based pieces. Almost all my works involve user interaction, sound art, art games, generative art, poetry or narrative, and some physical computing. My works are generally 2D, often with a cartoonish look or a painted effect, because I begin these artworks in the real world - painting characters then digitising them to animate.

I am interested in ways to tie education and social relevance into interactive pieces – particularly with regards to sustainability, ecology, and physics. My recently exhibited works explore poetry games, interactive sound art, interactive Net art/literature, projection mapping onto sculpture, 360° projections, projection as performance, and live light painting. These have been exhibited globally from Brisbane to New York, Virginia to Vienna, Paris to Melbourne, and/or online.

My background is in cultural theory and creative writing, and I likes to use these understandings to help create historically and culturally considered works. I still have some print poems and short stories published a couple of times a year, but I prefer to include visual and aural art, and movement, in my work as well - thus digital is the right realm for me! I also work as a mammal surveyor in Australia, and collaborate with conservation organisations and my university’s biology department to create data, and learn about endangered species and ecosystems under threat.

But most of all I'm simply curious about the world and all its creatures – real and imagined.

As well as my main website, I have a Facebook page for my works: www.facebook.com/alintaland
